"@toshiaki_takase" is an artwork series that handles the X account Toshi has been using since 2012, presenting it in a state where others can delete parts of the account's information. And in the Room, the actual x.com page, logged in by Toshi himself, is displayed at the venue. Visitors can delete posts and undo likes, reposts, follows, and bookmarks. Nothing can be added, and no permission is required to delete.
In the era after generative AI, posts accumulated on social media are no longer materials that represent who a person is. Even though the account continues to exist, that person is not there. This is a death of identity in online space caused by accumulation no longer guaranteeing the person, which is different from physical death or forgetting.
In addition, each piece of deleted information leaves behind a 32-byte trace, which is stored on a smart contract.
