天啓と執着

We are pleased to present "Revelation and Obsession", the exhibition by Iori Iwaki.
Statement
“Revelation and Obsession” is the first solo exhibition by Iori Iwaki.
It brings together motion graphics I have created independently over the years, along with new works made especially for this show.
All of the pieces on display are self-initiated works.
None of them are commercial projects.
They exist simply because I wanted to make them.
Compared to painting or sculpture, motion graphics are still rarely seen in exhibition spaces. Yet on social media and across the internet, they are created and shared every single day.
That is why I believe motion graphics should appear more often in exhibitions too.
I want to see motion graphic designers opening small solo shows more freely, showing their work in different places—both in the city and online.
I want motion graphics to live as culture, not tied to specific outputs.
I want them to become something “naturally present,” just like graphic design.
This exhibition traces my journey: from my very first attempt, to student works from university, to pieces I made while working at a company, and finally to the works created as a freelancer in pursuit of my own expression.
There were times when I worked in other fields of design, or even stepped away from motion graphics for a while.
But in the end, ever since I first encountered it back in university, I have kept coming back to the same thing, creating the same kind of work.
For me, motion graphics are both a revelation—and an obsession I am still compelled to pursue.
